Apparently a new Mortal Kombat movie is in the works. Below is a pretty sweet viral trailer that just hit the interwebz today. Michael Jai White (Spawn, The Dark Knight) plays Jax. Reptile, Baraka, Johnny Cage, Sub Zero, Scorpion and Sonya Blade all make appearances here as well.

Whether it's now or when you were a kid, everyone has a video game they geek out over. Mine just happened to be Mortal Kombat II, so this news pleases me considering the other movies sucked.

As most of you know by now actor, filmmaker, and all around badass Dennis Hopper passed away today. Hopper needs no introduction and had been in the movie industry since 1955's Rebel Without A Cause. To be able to have a career that long and successful says something about the man. He will be missed.

My first vivid experience with Hopper was back in 1994 when my Grandpa took me to the movies. He didn't care what we saw, so I had to pick. For some reason, I chose Speed. I don't know why, but I'll never forget it. Maybe it's because I got to see an R Rated movie when I was 11 or maybe it's because I was spending time with someone who actually meant something to me? I honestly don't know why, but I like to think that a certain performance by a deformed mad man named Howard Payne had a little something to do with it. Regardless, when I heard the news today, it definitely brought back that random Saturday afternoon.

Due yourself a favor and check out the following movies if you already haven't: Easy Rider, Apocalypse Now, Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, River's Edge, Blue Velvet, Hoosiers, COLORS (Directed), True Romance, and of course Speed. All Dennis Hopper staples.

Duke, Syracuse, and Ohio State all looked strong in their Sunday games winning pretty convincingly. The Kentucky/Cornell and Washington/West Virginia games are gonna be great, at least I hope they are. Since Kansas killed my chances of winning, I would love for U-Dub to win it all. Quincy Pondexter (Memorial!) is looking beastly right now, Isiah Thomas is shooting lights out, and the Huskies are just playing really well together. Their 9 game win streak can attest to that. However, if they lose, I will root for Kentucky or Kansas St. Have you seen Kansas State's coach? Dude's insane, I love it. More action to come Thursday.

Day 3 of the Madness... The day my bracket officially died. Should have never gone with Nova making my Final 4. They hadn't played well for the past month and I should have known better. I really wasn't thinking. The Kansas game was...special. I honestly never heard of Northern Iowa until I first looked at the brackets on Wednesday night. Yeah, I'm all for great games/shockers/upsets, but not against the team I picked to win it all. Especially when I seconded guessed myself doing so. Moral of the story, always go with your gut. If Kentucky ends up winning it all, that statement will further solidify my thoughts on gut feelings. Oh well.

Here are some teams not named Kentucky that you need to watch out for: Washington, Kansas State, Cornell, ~~California~~, and even Saint Mary's. I'm very curious to see how Ohio State, Syracuse, and Duke play tomorrow. The Baylor/Saint Mary's game next week should be a good one. More to come manana.

March Madness single handily is the best thing about college sports these days. Period. Bowl Games are cool in all, but until they fix the BCS and create some sort of playoff system, the NCAA Tournament reigns supreme. Like most sports nerds out there, I fill out a bracket every year and usually enter a couple pools. One with friends from home for 20 bucks, winner takes all; the other, a free, strictly for bragging rights pool in the CBFB Fantasy League. This year, however, I also signed up for the free Hall of Fame pool. The winner of that one wins a $500 Gift Certificate to the store on Fairfax. Hats galore.

Anyways, Day 1 of the 2010 Tourney has come to a close. Did not see Georgetown losing to Ohio today. I wonder if they will be this years Cinderella? The Hoyas choking kinda screwed my bracket. Got 10/16 picks right. Gotta come back strong tomorrow. More action to come.
